Biostime Institute of Nutrition Care (BINC) is a non-for-profit organization committed to promoting research and comprehensive health solutions in the fields of infant and maternal nutrition. The foundation collaborates with global community of medical professionals, dieticians, scientists, microbiologists, dairy experts and psychologists dedicated to the science of paediatric and antenatal care. Since its inception in 2014, associates of BINC have studied a variety of advancements in maternal and child health.
The Foundation is based in Geneva, Switzerland and Guangzhou, China. Both campuses are located close to a pool of academic laboratories, a large network of experts in food sciences and pharma industries as well as state-of-the-art scientific and technical platforms.
BINC operates across five scientific fields:
1. Infant Nutrition & Child Obesity
2. Women’s Health (Pregnancy & Antenatal)
3. Brain Development & Cognition
4. Microbiota
5. Allergy
BINC Geneva has a central geographic location and proximity to international organizations including the World Health Organization (WHO). This enables the Foundation to facilitate international cooperation, working towards the same goal of promoting health and wellbeing of mother and child.
In 2015, BINC China launched its state-of-the-art Microbiota Research Center as a leading professional microbiota research platform, equipped with advanced technology and up-to-date research techniques. Using metagenomics, the BINC Microbiota Research Center will be able to determine the intestinal micro-ecological status for infants and pregnant women, then design custom health solutions based on the intestinal micro-ecological conditions of individuals. This will usher a new era for the development of microbiota research.
When it comes to advancing health solutions in the field of infant and maternal health, BINC actively supports and funds scientific research and strongly participates in international scientific conferences, like the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN).
